How can we ensure forests thrive in the face of rising temperatures and shifting climates? The Forest Assisted Migration Project is addressing this critical question by developing a regional market for climate-smart tree seedlings that are better suited to adapt to changing conditions. This effort not only strengthens the resilience of northeast Minnesota’s iconic forests but also provides economic opportunities for local farmers and nurseries.
Led by David Abazs, this project blends cutting-edge research and practical application, providing a hopeful path forward for sustainable forest management in a warming world. David’s work has engaged hundreds of individuals and organizations, creating a powerful network of growers, scientists, and community members united in their commitment to a thriving future.
Come learn about this vital work, hear David’s story, and join the discussion about how we, as Friends, can support and draw inspiration from efforts like these to care for the Earth.
We hope to see you there!
